France, the 3rd Largest Foreign Investments Recipient in Europe in 2016

Industrial investments attract most FDIs

According to the EY European Attractiveness Report, France occupies the third position in Europe for the second consecutive year. The index compares foreign investments related to job-creating opportunities granted to foreign enterprises in countries all over Europe and France seems to offer some of the best employment conditions for those setting up companies here. In this year’s report France came third after the UK and Germany, implementing a total number of 598 projects involving the creation of jobs. The survey has gathered data from both private and public investments in all countries.

This year, France also occupies the first position in terms of industrial investments, and the best news is that this is the 15th consecutive year for this country to retain this place. At international level, France is 5th most popular destination when it comes to attracting FDI in terms of research and development. Foreign entrepreneurs also find France as a great investment destination when it comes to the innovation industry.

Record number of R&D investment in France in 2015

2015 was a great year for France when it comes to foreign investments, especially in the research and development (R&D) sector. The country attracted 87 projects, which is a record number within the country and Europe for a single year.

According to the survey, France was also one of the most innovative countries in Europe and in the world last year, managing to attract investments from the largest social media company and the largest search engine in the world. Also, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world set up base in France last year.
