The French economy to boost in 2015

Written by: Bridgewest

The latest predictions for 2015 regarding France’s economic situation show that the country is on its way to economic growth, as the lower oil prices and a weaker euro seem to be the main ingredients that will boost the country’s economy this year. This is good news for foreign entrepreneurs willing to invest in the country.

An important growth starting at the beginning of the year

The French National Statistics Institute (INSEE) released some figures that show the expected growth to be situated at 0.3 percent in the first two quarters of 2015. This prediction was made despite the fact that the Institute previously expected a growth of only 0.1 percent in the final quarter of 2014.

The same source did not make any estimation regarding the growth for the entire year, however, the estimation for the first semester of 2015 indicates that overall the French economy is likely to expand by 0.7 percent during this year.

More economic activity

An important change is expected during this summer, when the economic activity is expected to increase by 1.0 percent, after failing to do so the previous summer.

Some of the key factors that are thought to have generated this growth are the decrease in oil prices, which will help boost consumer spending, and the decreasing value of the Euro which will be important for business activities operating in the trade industry, as it will make French exports cheaper.

Some predictions have also been made regarding the employment situation in France which is currently going through a standstill. It is expected that French employers will start hiring new employees during the final months of the year. The data released by the Institute have been confirmed by the French government and the French Finance Minister said that the data corresponds with the estimations made by the government.
